All the China has just seen a solar eclipse from 8:00 to 11:00 (Beijing time). The Yangtze River valley was lucky enough to experience a total one. I feel it was a pity not being able to watch it through my eyes.
What I could do is just sit in front of my laptop, watching the CCTV and QQLIVE, waiting anxiously the moment when the sun was totally covered by the moon.
There were many cities in which different observation stations were built up. Fortunately, most of them were not bothered by the thick clouds. So I saw many unique scenes in different places such as Rikaze, Chengdu, Chongqing, Wuhan, Anqing, Tongling, Hangzhou, Tianhuangping, Shanghai and Zhoushan.
It was really awesome when the last part of the sun was eaten by the moon. At that time, the edge of the moon reflected some of the light emitted by the sun so that a bright spot would appear, which looked like a silver ring given to the moon by the sun.
In my hometown, there was also a partial solar eclipse. I saw some of the pictures uploaded by my fellow high school classmates.
It is said that in the year 2035, Beijing will experience another solar eclipse. I hope that I will then be in Beijing and the weather will be fine enough to appreciate the splendid astronomical phenomenon.
